PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Attendance Clerk is responsible for maintenance of all attendance records.




QUALIFICATIONS:
TEA certification requirements
High School Graduate or GED
Must possess office skills
Computer Literate/able to access information from computer/Region One ESC.




MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


  • Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a productive and efficient office operation.
  • Registers all incoming students.
  • Compiles, verifies, and maintains all demographic data on all active students.
  • Maintains all period absence reports by periods on a daily basis.
  • Files and maintains documentation on truant students.
  • Alerts principal of students skipping or of continuous absences.
  • Compiles and submits daily attendance reports to Assistant Superintendent for Operations & Support Services.
  • Computer operations: updates and maintains daily attendance on students; updates and maintains special reports.
  • Types a variety of material, as directed from drafts or corrected copies.
  • Files correspondence or other records in a prescribed manner, according to the practice of the office.
  • Updates data processing materials coming from Region One ESC.
  • Carries out Audits every six weeks.
  • Stores Attendance Records for the five years required for TEA Audit.
  • Inputs excused and unexcused absences on a daily basis.
  • Issues students “Admit to Class” slips, when returning from an absence.
  • Withdraw students/verify withdrawal with parents/guardian.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
