Fiber Splicer – Raleigh/Durham Area

Location: Must live within a one-hour commute to Durham, NC (27705)
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire (40 hrs/week)
Schedule: Rotating on-call shifts, including some weekends
Pay: Based on experience

Are you looking to advance your career in the telecommunications industry? We’re hiring a Fiber Splicer to join our team in the Raleigh/Durham area. In this role, you’ll be responsible for fusing optical fibers to maintain and expand our growing network, ensuring strong and reliable connections.

What You’ll Do:
Perform fiber splicing for both aerial and underground cables
Test, activate, and troubleshoot network circuits post-installation
Ensure all work meets industry and customer standards
Safely work at various heights and conditions
Maintain vehicles and equipment
Document work completed through reports and records
What You’ll Need:
Must be at least 18 years old
Authorized to work in the U.S.
High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
Valid driver’s license (non-provisional) with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam (valid medical card required)
At least 6 months of fiber splicing experience or 1 year of experience in telecommunications
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of telecommunications network structure
Availability to respond to after-hours call-outs as needed
