Prospect Schools is a high-performing, intentionally diverse (“diverse by design”) K-12 college preparatory charter network serving more than 2,700 students in seven (soon to be 9!) schools in Brooklyn. Prospect Schools models its curriculum on the renowned International Baccalaureate Program, a rigorous program that raises the level of academic responsibility for students while also preparing them to be global citizens.

The Role
Prospect Schools is seeking a thoughtful, equity-driven, and mission-aligned High School IB Psychology Teacher to join us in support of our growing network of schools. The ideal candidate is fully dedicated to the mission of Prospect Schools and to supporting the success of our students and families. This person will report directly to the Director of Humanities and the School Principal , and will serve as the lead Humanities teacher in the classroom.
Instructional Leadership & Planning
Lead Psychology instruction in a high school classroom, aligned with the International Baccalaureate framework and Prospect’s curriculum
Design engaging, rigorous lessons that are culturally responsive and build strong literacy skills
Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels and content areas to support interdisciplinary learning
Classroom Culture & Community Building
Build a warm, inclusive, and intellectually curious classroom culture
Hold students to high expectations for academic success and behavior, grounded in positive relationships
Use restorative practices to build classroom community and support student growth
Candidate Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree is required
At least 2 years of lead teaching experience preferred, ideally in Humanities at the high school level
A deep commitment to educational equity and working with diverse learners
Experience with the IB High School Years Programme is a plus but not required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary
Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. The salary range for this role is $63,960 to $106,995 .
