Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Houseparent.This is a full-time position that works a regular schedule of Monday-Friday 5am-1pm. The starting hourly rate is $17.25/hr. The position is based out of the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, IL. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.
Food Service: Under the direction of the Certified Dietary Manager, prepares breakfast for clients in 16-bed home. Follows client diets and correct portion size.
Housekeeping: General housekeeping in 16-bed home: make beds, organize closets, and laundry.

Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Qualifications:
Must possess or willing to obtain (within 30 days of employment) an Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation certificate
Familiarity with small foodservice equipment and use of chemicals for cleaning desired
Minimum of 1 year relevant experience preferred
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
