Job Summary:
We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our growing data team. As a critical member of our data engineering team, you'll help design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and systems. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and cloud engineers to ensure data accessibility and dependability in order to achieve our business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Help to design and develop data ingestion processes from a variety of sources.
- Help maintain and optimize existing data pipelines.
- Work with data scientists and analysts to determine data needs and requirements.
- Assist with the design and administration of data warehouses and lakes.
- Participate in data quality assurance to ensure that the data is accurate and full.
- Document the data architecture, processes, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and attempt to fix them quickly.
- Stay informed about developing data technology and best practices.
Skills:
- SQL proficiency and expertise working with relational databases (such as PostgreSQL and MySQL).
- A basic understanding of data warehouse ideas and ETL techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is advantageous.
- Understanding of programming languages like Python and Java.
- Understanding of data modeling and architectural principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting.
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or another relevant discipline.
- Internship or project experience in data engineering or similar subjects is advantageous.
- Experience with data visualization technologies (such as Tableau and Power BI) is advantageous.
