Overview:

The Manager, Talent Acquisition - Early Talent plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing comprehensive recruitment strategies aimed at attracting early career professionals and university students across the US and Canada. This role involves designing innovative on-campus, virtual, and digital engagement initiatives to meet McKesson's early talent program objectives.

In this capacity, the manager will lead a dedicated team, ensuring they effectively meet the business's early talent hiring needs. Leadership in this role will guide the team in implementing strategies that resonate with emerging talent, fostering a diverse and dynamic pipeline for the organization's future.

Success in this position requires exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills to manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The ability to build strong relationships and deliver results is instrumental in attracting top-tier talent from universities, reinforcing McKesson's reputation as an employer of choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Recruitment:
    • Design and implement early talent recruitment strategies that align with business objectives.
    • Work closely with internal Recruitment Marketing & Branding team to ensure a strong and consistent branding message is leveraged in all recruitment efforts.
    • Use metrics and analytics to guide decision-making and improve recruitment processes, ensuring greater efficiency.
    • Track and evaluate trends related to early talent programs, including retention rates, career progression, and employee engagement, to continually enhance program effectiveness.

  • Relationship Building:
    • Develop robust partnerships with business leaders and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to gain a comprehensive understanding of both current and future early talent needs. Secure senior-level commitment to allocate the necessary time, resources, and support to effectively meet these needs.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to build a robust talent pipeline. Ensuring clear process and communication paths for program participants and referrals.

  • Program Management:
    • Oversee all early-career and internship programs in the US and Canada, ensuring alignment with business unit needs.
    • Manage full life-cycle recruitment for early talent programs, ensuring alignment with targeted start dates. Coordinate recruitment events as applicable to support timely onboarding and integration of talent into the organization.
    • Ensure allocation of capacity across the team based on fluctuating business needs.

  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure advocacy and adoption of recruitment tools and systems to maintain accuracy and productivity.
    • Provide training and support to business leaders on early talent acquisition processes and best practices.

  • Leadership & Development:
    • Inspire and develop a team of talent advisors, ensuring they are engaged and performing at high levels.
    • Foster an environment conducive to growth, creativity, and strategic thinking.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in recruiting, including full-cycle recruiting and project management experience
  • 2-3 years of Campus Recruitment/Early Talent Programs required
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project success.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams, either directly or through cross-functional collaboration

  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Expertise in developing creative recruitment strategies.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into strategic recruitment plans.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work model with office availability.
  • Minimal travel required (up to 25%).

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $89,800 - $149,600
