Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Polish brass and aluminum parts using a variety of buffing, polishing wheels, and other finishing abrasives. 
• Use hand and power tools to grind, sand, clean, or polish parts to prepare surfaces for final finishing. 
• Utilize appropriate compounds and polishing/buffing wheels to polish aluminum and brass components to the desired surface finish. 
• Inspect finished work pieces to ensure adherence to Juniper polishing specifications.
• At Juniper, we take pride in our commitment to quality. As a Metal Polisher, you will follow work instructions to comply with product specifications, process specifications, and Juniper's high-quality standards. This ensures that our products meet the highest standards of excellence, giving you confidence in your work. 
• Identifies and maintains finished product samples used as controls. 
• Monitor and manage stock of polishing compounds and polishing wheels. 
• Ensure polishing and buffing wheels are adequately maintained and marked appropriately for direction and compound type. 
• Wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, face shields, and gloves. 
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards. 
• Keep the work area clean and organized, and adequately care for all equipment. 
• Assist in other areas when no material is ready for polishing. 

Minimum Requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Two years of metal polishing and buffing experience is required. 
• One year of experience working in a production environment. 
• Experience working with brass and aluminum. 
• Good mechanical aptitude. 
• Proficient with power tools. 
• Diligence, attention to detail, and good eyesight. 
• Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination. 
• Excellent reading comprehension and capacity to follow written directions. 
• Good written and verbal communication. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision. 
• Ability to work with minimal supervision 

 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods.
• Ability to climb staircases, ladders, and step stools. 
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and climb occasionally.
• Ability to operate machinery and associated equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
