What are we looking for

At Stone Systems ( we are looking for a   Polisher  for our Shop located in  Houston, TX, who will have the opportunity to work in a multinational environment, in full expansion, surrounded by numerous challenging projects that you can be part of.

What you will do

As a  Polisher for Stone Systems, you are going to be responsible for operating polishing equipment to obtain desired polish and luster on parts and products.


Job Expectations:

• Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools 
• Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure the dimensions stay the same 
• Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework 
• Ensure proper use of equipment 
• Work in a collaborative environment by helping coworkers in other stations if needed 
• Maintain a clean station 
• Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.) 
• Ensure safety procedures are followed 
• Other duties as assigned 

What you need to succeed

EXPERIENCE
Desired:

• Experience in fabricating marble, granite and quartz
• Experience in construction, industrial and manufacturing fields
• Experience in material polishing
• Experience operating a forklift

EDUCATION
Required:

• High School Diploma/GED

KNOWLEDGE
Required:

• Basic knowledge of math (adding, subtracting, measurements, etc)
• Basic knowledge of maintenance 

SKILLS
Required:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

This job requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or uncomfortable.

Stone Systems ( is the largest network of commonly owned stone fabrication shops in North America. Currently, there are 10 Stone Systems shops throughout the US. The company is part of the Cosentino group ( a dependable and reliable stone surface manufacturer with over 70 years of experience in the natural stone industry. In addition to having the largest production capacity of any manufacturer of quartz and other surfacing products, Cosentino also has a worldwide distribution network. 

Wage Range:

The starting hourly range for this position is $17-$18.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible Potential Annual Award depending on individual performance and Company performance, in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, including Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Short-term and Long-term Disability and Basic Life and Supplemental Insurance. You will also be eligible to enroll in our 401(k) Retirement Plan, starting the first of the month.

Paid time off:

Vacation time will be accrued monthly and will be subject to change per the Company’s policy updates. 5 days of sick time. Full-time employees will receive 2 floating holidays to use each year. If hired after July 1, employees receive 1 floating holiday to use for that calendar year.
