Title : Retail Shop Manager

Reports to: Director, Retail

Department: Gift Shop

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: An award-winning mountain-top wellness center in scenic Boone, NC. Surrounded by nature, we offer immersive experiences through the powerful practices of meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and Ayurveda.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Shop Manager to support and grow the day-to-day operations of our unique gift shop. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for retail, guest service, and holistic living who is ready to take on a leadership position. As Manager, you’ll help oversee a dedicated team, maintain operational excellence, and ensure our guests have an engaging and fulfilling shopping experience.


What You’ll Do Here:

  • Manage all aspects of daily retail operations.
  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding guest service: greeting, guiding, and engaging customers.
  • Supervise and assist staff in completing sales, returns, and transactions efficiently.
  • Train new associates on store policies, POS systems (Shopify), and customer service standards.
  • Maintain optimal store presentation: oversee merchandising, restocking, and upkeep of displays.
  • Assist in inventory management: receiving shipments, reconciling invoices, and updating systems.
  • Ensure product labeling and tagging accuracy for optimal guest experience.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and care.
  • Analyze sales trends, provide feedback on inventory, and suggest new product opportunities.
  • Foster a creative and collaborative environment that reflects the values of the retreat center.
  • Work across both the gift shop and café portions of the business as needed.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a retail setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • High level of computer literacy; experience with Shopify is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead a team with professionalism, integrity, and positivity.
  • Enthusiasm for holistic, natural, and wellness-oriented products.
  • Ability to multitask and remain adaptable in both high-energy and quiet moments.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
  • Desire to grow personally and professionally within a spiritually inspired environment.
