POSITION TITLE: Security Supervisor REPORTS TO: Director of Program Operations
12 hour shifts 7am to 7pm Thursday-Saturday, 7pm to 7am Thursday - Saturday
Pay 22.00 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Program Operations (DPO),
the Security Supervisor provides de-escalation support when needed and general oversight to
ensure the program operation is consistent with safety, regulatory guidelines, contractual
obligations, and organization's policies and procedures to ensure optimum services to all clients.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Perform hourly rounds throughout the facility, monitoring each floor for the safety of the
clients and adherence to rules and regulations.
Provide training and ongoing supervision to security personnel to ensure they uphold
prime security directives and protocols.
Regularly evaluate the performance of security staff, provide constructive feedback, and
address any deficiencies in their performance.
Respond to client concerns according to procedure or instructions, providing counseling
as appropriate.
Promptly write clear and comprehensive incident reports for any situations that occur
on-site, such as client behavioral incidents, safety breaches, or emergencies.
Minimize any risks to staff, clients, or the facility by proactively checking for potentially
dangerous items, substances, or contraband.
Respond promptly to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, or
disturbances, following established protocols.
Conduct/participate in fire drills and ensure compliance with regulations and procedures.
Respond in accordance with CLC, NYC DHS and NYS OTDA policy, procedures, rules
and regulations when external agencies enter the building (NYPD, FDNY, OTDA, NYC
DHS, ACS, Coalition for the Homeless, probation officers, parole officers, etc.).
Participate in all training, workshops and/or educational programs as assigned or
indicated.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree preferred, or a high school diploma or equivalency with two years
supervisory, counseling or shelter experience.
Security License
CPR/First Aid or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
F80 required
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with shifts that operate 365 days per year, 24
hours per day. Schedule and location may change to meet the needs of the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to speak/write the English language.
