Summary Description:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst performs business and systems analysis in support of the Information Technology team. Job functions include current-state/future-state requirements solicitation, root cause analysis and documentation, solution design and implementation, issue research and resolution, testing, training, and related documentation. The analyst provides data collection, analytics, and reporting on business operations and data import/extracts. The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports initiatives across multiple teams and is a key resource for best practices definition and business translation and support between the technical and business teams.

• Research data in SQL Server and Oracle databases using SQL • Write reports using reporting tools similar to Excel Pivot Tables, Cognos, and PowerBI
• Provide analysis, requirements definition, documentation, project leadership, business process design, and testing in support of IT and PMO initiatives and accepted business intake requests
• Manage responsibilities to ensure analysis results, defined requirements, reports generated and data tools maintenance support effective and accurate decision making
• Track, trend, and analyze data to report to Western Health Advantage’s Board of Directors, internal committees, external regulatory and accreditation agencies, and key performance indicator dashboards
• Set quality standards, validate accuracy of team activities according to quality control procedures
• Prepare accurate and timely reports, including graphical displays
• Establish and lead business supporting workgroups and governance committees
• Create and maintain detailed instructions, process documentation, and manuals
• Mentor junior IT department analysts and support their training in technical analysis skill sets
• Establish and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) for IT teams • Take ownership of problems and assignments and complete assigned projects within targeted timeframes
• Keep leadership, team members, and internal customers informed of project and individual task status as needed
• Partner with management on complex solutions to improve overall data quality and integrity
• Serve as a business end to end domain expert documenting related business processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for development projects
• Test and perform quality assurance tasks
• Keep abreast of regulatory requirements, techniques, and technologies related to the healthcare payer industry • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
• 5 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst. Business Intelligence or Data Analytics Analyst
• 5 years’ experience writing SQL queries is required
• 5 years’ experience working in a related role in the health care industry, specifically HMO, is a plus
• Ability to gather and analyze information and identify solutions to problems
• Ability to gather information about an organization's needs
• Have an existing knowledge base of analysis tools and templates similar to a Six Sigma Green Belt’s
• Demonstrate the use of strong written and verbal skills
• Ability to communicate complex issues and create written training materials
Salary:
$95,000.00 - $122,000.00 Annually
