Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil-Structural Engineer/Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil-structural design, with a focus on hydraulic and hydrological design for industrial plants. This role will involve working with project teams to ensure that design and engineering solutions meet company’s scope, budget, and schedule requirements, with a particular emphasis on the Gulf Coast region and other areas across the U.S.

Job Description

• Prepare and provide estimates, scope of work documents, and technical reviews for proposals, geotechnical investigations, engineering, and construction phases.
• Develop and implement site-specific civil-structural design methodology, ensuring alignment with company’s budget and schedule.
• Collaborate effectively with in-house engineering teams, third-party contractors, and external entities to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Verify inputs from internal and external design team members, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all engineering documents.
• Assist the project and construction teams in resolving civil-structural issues during the engineering and construction phases.
• Review vendor/fabricator shop drawings and answer RFIs (Requests for Information) and TQs (Technical Queries) as needed.
• Provide technical support to the engineering delivery team on interdisciplinary aspects (e.g., piping, electrical/instrumentation).
• Contribute to design improvements, particularly in dynamic equipment, cooling towers, piling, and other civil-structural components.
• Be responsible for the civil-structural scope of work and maintain full accountability.
• Review and design stormwater and effluent systems, including hydraulic structures and conveyances.
• Design concrete and steel structures and foundations as needed.

Skills Required

• Expertise in hydrological design and stormwater management, including the design of detention/retention basins and sediment basins.
• Proficiency in design software such as Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, Atlas 13 & 14 (Texas), and STAAD, Mat3D for structural design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks, and other engineering design tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.).
• Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and contractors.
• Comfortable with working in fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License required (Texas or ability to obtain PE via comity or reciprocity in other states).
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in an EPC setting, with a strong focus on civil-structural design for industrial infrastructure and plant construction.

Additional Requirements

• Approximately 25% travel to project locations and engineering offices as required. This may include driving to local job sites and potential air travel to other offices.
• Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
• PPE required for site visits on an as-needed basis.
• Site visits may involve climbing stair towers and platforms up to 30 feet in height.
• Must be able to wear appropriate safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection during site visits.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and ownership over technical decisions.

Pay Rate

• $55 per hour
