A full-service, leading boutique Investor and Public Relations firm, seeks a talented and experienced Social Media Specialist to join its expanding Public Relations agency. This role will report directly to the Managing Director of Public Relations and focus on developing and executing social media strategies to enhance our clients' visibility and engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of social media trends, experience working with Canva, and a passion for creating compelling digital content across various platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients and the Managing Director and IR and PR account leads to create and implement effective social media strategies that are aligned with clients' business goals.
  • Manage and grow social media presence for a diverse portfolio of public and private company clients across platforms such as LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and others.
  • Develop, curate, and post engaging content using Canva, including graphics, videos, infographics, and other multimedia formats to support brand positioning and storytelling.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities, industry trends, and emerging platforms to keep clients ahead of the curve.
  • Analyze social media metrics and prepare performance reports to assess and enhance the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
  • Assist in creating comprehensive social media calendars and scheduling posts using tools like Trello and Hootsuite.
  • Support thought leadership initiatives by crafting compelling social media posts that align with PR strategies, including promoting speaking engagements, awards, and media coverage.
  • Engage in social listening to track and manage online reputation, monitor competitor activity, and identify influencer and partnership opportunities.
  • Stay current on social media, digital marketing, and content trends to provide insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Leverage hashtags and other social media methods to garner interest in clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in social media management, preferably within an agency environment, and with life science, technology, and financial services clients.
  • Proven experience creating visually engaging content using Canva.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, best practices, and analytics tools.
  • Demonstrable experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools, such as Hootsuite, Buffer, and Sprout Social.
  • Excellent writing and content creation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple social media accounts and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Passion for digital storytelling and creativity in content creation.
  • Experience working with public companies, preferablly in the micro and small cap space.
