We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sommelier / Maître D' to join our team and help enhance our guest experience.
Job Description:
As a Sommelier / Maître D', you will ensure that we provide the highest level of service to our guests. You will be responsible for managing the wine program, providing expert wine recommendations, and overseeing the front-of-house operations to ensure a seamless, unforgettable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Sommelier Duties:
Curate and maintain an exceptional Italian-focused wine list that complements our menu of traditional and contemporary Italian dishes.
Provide expert wine recommendations, assisting guests with pairings to enhance their meal experience.
Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure a deep understanding of Italian wines and regions.
Maintain and organize the wine cellar, ensuring the proper storage, rotation, and management of wine stock.
Stay up-to-date with wine trends, new releases, and emerging Italian wine regions to continually improve our offerings.
Maître D' Duties:
Greet and welcome guests with a warm, personalized, and professional approach.
Manage reservations, ensuring efficient seating arrangements and a smooth flow in the dining room.
Oversee front-of-house staff, ensuring impeccable service and adherence to fine dining standards.
Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and any concerns, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
Oversee the overall ambiance and dining experience, creating an inviting and comfortable environment.
Train, motivate, and lead the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service at all times.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role within a fine-dining or Italian restaurant environment. Italian speaking a plus.
In-depth knowledge of Italian wines, regions, and wine pairings.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
Previous experience as a Maître D' is highly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage reservations, guest expectations, and the dining room flow.
A strong understanding of Italian fine dining culture and etiquette.
Wine certifications or equivalent experience is preferred.
