Job Description

Trinity United Methodist Church (814 West Ave, Cartersville, GA, 30120) is looking for a talented and motivated collaborative pianist to join their staff. Select candidates will be asked to audition in a rehearsal setting with the Choir and Director, as well as interview with the Senior Pastor, Music Director, and Staff-Parish Relations Committee. Compensation for this role is $12,000 annually, paid biweekly.

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualities:

• Expert piano performance skills, both solo and collaborative.
• Comfort sight-reading in a variety of genres.
• A collaborative, creative, and energetic spirit.
• Choral accompanying experience is preferred but not required.
• Choral conducting experience is preferred but not required.

Obligations include:

• Weekly rehearsals (6:45-8:00pm).
• Weekly services, pre-service rehearsals, and worship team meetings (Sundays, 9:30a-12:00p).
• Regular “special” services including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
• Occasional special services (for additional compensation) including funerals and weddings.
• Occasional additional rehearsals.
• Selection, preparation, and performance of Prelude, Offertory, and Postlude music for all services.
• Preparation and performance of all choral repertoire as assigned.
• Monthly staff meetings and ad hoc worship planning meetings.
