Job Description

This role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners.

The Motion Graphics Designer and Animator is responsible for planning, creating, and editing high-quality motion graphics and animated content for advertising learning programs and short-form learning. This includes developing creative concepts, working with internal and cross-functional teams to produce the animations, and ensuring that they meet all brand guidelines and technical specifications. The Motion Graphics Designer and Animator also plays a key role in developing strategies to maximize audience engagement and improve the overall learning experience.

The successful candidate is energetic, full of ideas, and able to work with the best tools for the job, whether that’s a full design suite, After Effects, or other animation software. They take pride in producing exciting content at a rapid pace. They are scrappy and able to adapt quickly to any situation. Most importantly, they create great content that people love!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and produce high-quality motion graphics and animated content for advertising learning programs, short-form learning, and People Team initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to ensure that animations are aligned with brand messaging and learning objectives.
  • Design and animate motion graphics using professional software such as After Effects and Illustrator.
  • Develop content to maximize audience engagement, such as implementing campaigns, live streaming events, and interactive content.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of all motion graphics content produced, including adherence to brand guidelines and technical specifications.
  • Monitor performance metrics and analyze data to refine content strategies and improve audience engagement.
  • Provide high-level guidance on crafting story when working with clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative approaches to motion graphics and animation.

Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in motion graphics design and animation using software such as Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
  • Creativity: Ability to develop unique, engaging visual concepts and strong visual storytelling.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work cohesively with teams and convey ideas effectively.
  • Branding Awareness: Understanding and adherence to company brand guidelines in visual content.
  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of audience engagement strategies and ability to analyze performance metrics for content improvement.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle dynamic environments and swiftly embrace new technologies.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring precision in every aspect of an animation, from visuals to timing.

Qualifications:

  • In order to meet the standards of Internal Comms projects (some external social content + company all-hands videos) and also do projects like the Compensation Philosophy video series and some of the animated FlexLearn pieces we've hired vendors for in the past, this person needs ~5 years of experience
  • Solid portfolio of short, engaging motion graphics and animated content.
  • Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite applications, with a proficiency in After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with digital media production tools and software, including animation editing software, graphic design tools, and content management systems.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities, balanced with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to balance quality and speed to rapidly produce engaging content.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Bachelor's degree in media production, digital media, communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in video production, editing, and post-production.
